Catholic Church of St.Pavil and St.Peter in Riebiņi
The first Catholic church in Riebiņi was built in 1771 by the landowner Veisenhofs. It was a wooden building with one tower, covered with boards on the outside. After the new church was built, the old one, which was in very poor condition, was demolished. The current church was built under the leadership of Provost Dominik Andrekus, and construction continued until 1907.
The current church was built under the leadership of Provost Dominika Andrekus. He used the construction plan for the Nīdermuiža church, and the work was supervised by the same person who built the Nīdermuiža church. Under the leadership of Provost Andrekus, construction of the church continued until 1907, but on February 15, 1908, Provost Andrekus died. He did not manage to install windows and doors in the new church; this was done by the next provost.
Construction began in 1894 and was completed in 1909. The church was built from broken stones. There are red bricks in the corners, cornices, and towers. It is located on the banks of the Feimaņi River, in the very center of Riebiņi. The functionally designed ascetic interior is combined with a picturesque, colorfully varied facade design, which also features neo-Gothic elements.
Riebiņi Church is a 15 m long and 12 m wide building with a tin roof. It is a three-nave space with a tiled floor. The church has electricity. Both the church and the sacristy can be heated.
