In ancient times, there was a small wooden church in the Jasmuiža cemetery. It is unknown when it was built. In 1815, the lord of the manor, Ksaverijs Šadurskis, built a new stone church around this small church, dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The church was 24 m long, 12 m wide and 10 m high, and had a rectangular shape. Under the porch, images of St. Peter and St. Paul were painted on the wall. The church had no tower. This church existed until 1926. During the time of Provost Ostrovsky, the church was demolished, leaving only the walls. In order to build a chapel, the side walls were broken through to a width of 9 m, thus creating a chapel 9 m wide and 3 m long on each side. The front of the church was also extended by 6 meters, and a small tower was added above the extension. The Jasmuiža Church is a 15-meter-long and 20-meter-wide multi-nave cruciform space.
