During the summer season, several weddings often take place in this church on a single day. The church is located near Lake Pieniņi. There is a small swimming area nearby.
The ancient wooden church in Pieniņi was built in 1806 and has survived to this day, although it is now used as a warehouse. This wooden church was built by Count Borhs. In 1936, the curate J. Kiseļevskis was ordered by the manor to build a new church in a different location on the shore of the lake. The church was built of cement bricks with a single Gothic-style tower. In 1939, the main construction work was completed and the church was consecrated. It is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Anne. There are three doors in the church: at the front, on the right side, and in the sacristy.

The floor is made of colored tiles. On each side, there are three stone pillars that support the weight of the church's superstructure. The main altar features a statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The church façade features a tall square tower with bells. On the sides of the tower are small turrets with crosses in the middle. The church garden is surrounded by a wooden fence with white brick posts. The same posts are at the entrance gate. At the entrance to the garden on the left side, an iron cross from the old church is embedded in a stone base. It is the work of ancient craftsmen.
