Vārkava Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church

Apraksts

In 1873, work began on the construction of the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Vārkava. As evidenced by the inscription carved in stone, the work was completed in 1877. The church is dedicated to the Holy Trinity and was built from broken stones and red bricks in the corners, cornices, and towers. The church is 25 meters long and 18 meters wide, with three altars featuring beautiful paintings of saints. The church also has a large choir room with an organ, which is a national art monument, while the church itself is a local architectural monument. The church houses several important art monuments of national importance, among them the organ. Some of the items from the church have been transferred to the Rundāle Palace Museum.
