Exhibition "Jāzeps Baško - Air Driver" at the Preiļi Museum of History and Applied Arts

Apraksts

In 2014, the exhibition "Jāzeps Baško - Air Driver" was created to mark the 125th anniversary of Jāzeps Baško, a distinguished local aviator, commander of the squadron "Ilya Muromets," and organizer of the Latvian Air Force. The exhibition also commemorates the 100th anniversary of World War I. The centrepiece of the collection is a design object: a six-times smaller model of the "Ilya Muromets" aircraft, featuring accompanying information in the form of texts and images. This exhibition is enriched by contributions from the Latvian War Museum, the Latvian State Historical Archives, the Spilve Aviation Museum, and private archives.
