The Basilica of Aglona, built in the late Baroque style, is the Catholic religion center in Latvia. Pilgrims come to Aglona every year on August 15 to celebrate the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 100 meters east of the basilica, there is the holy spring of Aglona, famous for its healing powers. In the monastery of the Aglona Basilica, it is possible to stay over night and have delicious meals by booking it in advance.
